Focusing on You
Drawing upon evidence-based approaches like ACT, Narrative and psychodynamic theory, my approach to therapy is about mindful action. We will not just talk about your past; we will focus on what you can do to build a meaningful life. Our goal is to help you move through difficult feelings and experiences by taking action based on your values.
How We'll Work Together
Here's a sample of what our work might involve:
Be Here Now: We will practice centering your awareness on what you are experiencing and doing in the present moment. You'll learn to let go of distracting events, thoughts and feelings that are not in your control. The goal is to focus on what is important to you.
Accepting and Noticing: We will work on allowing yourself to have emotions without trying to control them. You will learn to be willing to simply have your feelings while moving toward your goals. Similarly, you will practice simply noticing thoughts that arise and letting them go if they are not helpful.
Clarify What You Care About: We'll identify your personal values, which will serve as the motivation for your actions. These values will guide your life and help you design your success.
Take Action: With your values and present awareness, you will commit to taking concrete steps.
My Role
I am here to help you notice if you are being influenced by unhelpful self-descriptions and to let go of problematic thoughts you are believing about yourself. I will support you as you move forward with what you care about, even when it feels hard.

Broken, not shattered. Healed, not whole.
